Hay Festival

Every year at the end of May Hay on Wye holds its literary festival. Sounds boring but it’s a load of fun.

It’s not just writers talking about/promoting their latest books, there are musicians, comedians, eccentrics and traders of all sorts as well.

The festival is currently sponsored by the Daily Telegraph – this photo is not a set-up!

Hay’s a bit quirky. This is one of two goats that were promoting Africa Day during the festival week (actually 10 days). Hay is twinned with Timbuktu.

Hay is famous for being “the town of books”. Note the sign across the street – not too keen on electronic books!

Dr Zigs bubbles added to the fun. One of the bubbles looks like it’s bursting over someones head.

All photos Nikon D7000 with 16-85mm lens. Bubbles photo set to vivid otherwise all pictures pretty much as they came out of the camera.
