Last of winter – I hope.

Winter has dragged on – there’s still snow on the hills around here. In March 2012 people were swimming in the river – crazy weather.

These two pictures were taken from Mynydd Troed with Pen y Fan, the highest point in the Brecon Beacons behind. Both were taken on a Nikon D7000 using a 16-85mm lens, a polariser and an exposure setting of +1 to keep the snow looking nice and bright.

Pen y Fan again. Same camera and lens.

Hills in the Black Mountains area of the Brecon Beacons. Nikon P7100 compact camera, cropped a little.

Hopefully by next month, May, we’ll be rid of the snow and I’ll have some more exciting photos to show you.

  1. I’m glad it’s cleared now too, but still…got some great shots as a result. Still a bit still around on Pen y Fan weekend before last.
Have you seen result of the wild fire on Mynydd Llangorse at Easter? Must have been quite a blaze.

    • Hi Stephen,
Some of the fires are deliberate to help improve the grazing – I don’t know if that one was.
